Aymen Barkok joins Schalke 04

Aymen Barkok has left 1. FSV Mainz 05 and completed a move to FC Schalke 04, signing a contract until the end of the season. Barkok, who arrived at Bruchweg in summer 2022 on a free from Eintracht Frankfurt and spent the second half of last season on loan at Hertha BSC, made a total of 44 appearances in all competitions for the 05ers. The transfer details are undisclosed.

Mainz sporting director Niko Bungert said: “Throughout his time here, Aymen has been a consummate professional and model team player, who has always given his all for the club. We would like to thank him for his time at Mainz 05 and truly wish him all the best at his new club Schalke 04.”
