Brajan Gruda joins Brighton & Hove Albion
The academy product leaves FSV after six years, having made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga for the club – Heidel: An offer that we couldn't turn down
Brajan Gruda has completed a move to Brighton & Hove Albion, putting pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Premier League side. Gruda arrived at the WOLFGANG FRANK CAMPUS when he was 14 and made his way through the ranks of the 05ers' academy, captaining our U19s to a Bundesliga title in 2023. He has featured 30 times in the top flight for the FSV first team (4 goals), as well as making one appearance in the DFB-Pokal. Both clubs have agreed to keep the contract details of the move undisclosed.
"Brajan approached us and shared that he wanted to join Brighton. After thorough consideration, it was with a heavy heart that we agreed. The financial terms set out in the offer were such that Mainz 05 couldn't afford to turn it down. We would like to thank Brajan for all his efforts for Mainz 05 and wish him nothing but the best for the future," said FSV sporting director Christian Heidel.
