David Mamutovic extends his contract and signs his first professional deal
The wide player has made his case for a place in the first-team squad with good performances for the U23s
David Mamutovic has extended his contract with 1. FSV Mainz 05 by a year and has signed his first professional deal. The 23-year-old wide player, who came through Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s academy, came to Mainz from Rot Weiß Ahlen in the summer of 2022 and has worked his way into the 05ers’ first-team squad following time with the U23. His contract will run until 2025.
“Since moving to Mainz, David has made a lot of progress. He’s put himself forward for the first-team training and matchday squad following a number of good performances for the U23s. He’s fully deserved his first professional contract,” said Mainz’s sporting director Martin Schmidt.
