The first games of this international break are completed and the Mainz players on international duty have so far experienced nothing but positive results. Here is a short overview of the games that have already been played and a look forward to highlights of the rest of the international break.
Norway celebrate win, as does Dal with the Germany U19s
Andreas Hanche-Olsen and the Norway national team came away from their UEFA Nations League came against Slovenia with a 3-0 win. The Mainz man was in the starting eleven and played the full 90 minutes.
Maxim Dal was also able to enjoy a win, this time with the Germany U19s, winning a friendly against Spain 2-1. Dal started the game and was also able to play the full 90 minutes.
Austria with comfortable win, Lee a goalscorer for South Korea
Mainz player Phillipp Mwene and the Austria national team celebrated a dominant win against Kazakhstan in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday evening, winning 4-0. The Zerofiver didn’t play due to suspension.
Jae-sung Lee scored the opening goal for South Korea in their game against Jordan – the game ended in a 2-0 win. Hyun-seok Hong was subbed on in the 90th minute.
Burkardt away with the Germany squad, Nebel in contention for U21s
For Jonathan Burkardt, who has been called up to the senior Germany squad for the first time, a game on Friday evening (20:45 CEST) in the UEFA Nations League against Bosnia-Herzegovina is on the agenda. After that, the squad will travel back to Germany for the game on Monday evening (20:45 CEST) against the Netherlands.
Zerofivers player Paul Nebel is currently away with the Germany U21 squad, who play Bulgaria on Friday evening (18:00 CEST), and could finally put qualification for the European Champions to bed.
