“Lacked fluidity after the break”
Post-match reaction from the 05ers following the stalemate with Augsburg

Niko Bungert: “We deserved more from the game than we ultimately got. Our performance was a good one against an opponent that made life awkward for us. Augsburg remained compact while doing little in possession. We just made things more difficult for ourselves and did have the chances to win it. Our defensive solidity was good to see and made for a positive display on the whole. We just can’t be satisfied with the end result. You can’t give much more than we did today.”
Paul Nebel: “The start we made was a good one. We were on it in terms of intensity in our tackling against a tricky opponent. We had good chances during the first half but lacked precision after the restart. Finn did well to keep out that second chance I had but I also could have placed it rather better as well. That’s something to work on for next week.”
Robin Zentner: “I am happy with the clean sheet especially since it would have been really frustrating to concede a messy goal like we nearly did at the end. I think it’s fairly obvious that we created more and wanted it more, too. Despite not coming up with any major opportunities in the second half, we still did enough to win the game, I think. We just lacked some fluidity after the break.”
