Our new Carnival shirt: Striped like the uniforms worn by the Kleppergarde

The new Carnival shirt is here! This year's kit, which is the first one designed by new kit supplier JAKO, features yellow, red, blue and white horizontal stripes in the four colours typically associated with Carnival in Mainz and is also based on the traditional uniforms worn by the Mainzer Klepper-Garde 1856 e. V. Kleine. Some of the shirt’s fine details include the jester hat on the neck and four-colour cuffs on the sleeves. 

The limited edition kit has been a part of Mainz 05 for several years. The players will wear the Carnival kit during the home game against Werder Bremen on Saturday, 3rd February, which is also Carnival matchday. 

Initially exclusive to members, on general sale from 19th January 

The shirts are available exclusively to members in the pre-sale from Wednesday, 17th January and are only available in the online shop. The shirts will then be available to purchase for everyone in all fan shops from Friday, 19th January and at the home game against Union Berlin at the MEWA ARENA. The shirt costs €84.95 for adults, whilst the limited edition shirt is also available in children’s sizes for the first time at a price of €64.95. Members will receive a 10% discount as usual. 

Some of the proceeds from the sale of the Carnival kits and the entrance fees from the Carnival event at the MEWA ARENA (Sunday, 28th January) will be donated to charity.
