Daniel Batz extends contract until 2026

Goalkeeper extends ahead of 2025/26 season

Daniel Batz has extended his contract at 1. FSV Mainz 05 by an additional year until 2026. The goalkeeper, who joined FSV in 2023 from 1. FC Saarbrücken, will therefore remain part of the club’s goalkeeping set-up for the upcoming season. Batz has deputised for Robin Zentner in four Bundesliga games to date.

“Daniel is a real role model, both in terms of how he conducts himself as a person and as a player. He gives 100% in every training session, adds quality to our sessions and we have full confidence that we can count on him when needed in the Bundesliga. We’re delighted that he will stay with us for an additional year,” said FSV sporting director Niko Bungert.

“While my first season here came during an incredibly tough time for the entire club, this season has been the complete opposite. There have been highs and lows, but we have managed to tackle them together. The fans here love this club, as we saw last season when we were fighting for survival, and this level of incredible support has only continued at every game this season. Mainz 05 are a family and enjoy a close connection to the city — both benefit from having each other. I’m delighted to be remaining part of the FSV family,” said Batz.
