Four 05ers called up for international duty

Barreiro, Fernandes, Gruda & Lee in international action – plus public training and a charity match at the weekend

Four 05 players are involved with their respective national teams in the second international break of the season and will be representing FSV on international soil before the sold-out MEWA ARENA hosts the champions Bayern München on 21st October (15:30 CEST).

Games with Israel postponed and three public training sessions at the Bruchweg

Leandro Barreiro’s Luxembourg are looking for vital points in their two European Championship qualifiers in Iceland (13th October) and against Slovakia (16th October). He will be joined by two members of the 05 youth academy: Timothé Rupil from the U23s and U19s midfielder Aiman Dardari.

Brajan Gruda will meanwhile be hoping to make his third appearance for Germany U21s, with whom he will travel to Sofia for EURO qualification on 13th October. The planned match in Israel has been postponed due to the terrorist attacks in the country and the resulting current situation.

Edimilson Fernandes will also only be playing in one EURO qualifier against Belarus (15th October), as Switzerland’s fixture against Israel has also been cancelled.

Jae-sung Lee and the South Korean team are set to play two friendlies against Tunisia (13th October in Seoul) and Vietnam (17th October in Suwon).

Training will start on Wednesday (11:00 CEST) at the Bruchweg for the 05ers not involved in the upcoming international fixtures. Bo Svensson has also scheduled in two public training sessions for Thursday and Friday, in preparation for the charity match against a selection of players from the Rhine-Ahr area in Adenau on Saturday (2:30 CEST).
