27-man squad for winter training camp

1. FSV Mainz 05’s preparations for the second half of the Bundesliga season got underway on New Year’s Day, as they held a training session at the WOLFGANG FRANK CAMPUS. The 27 players who partook in yesterday’s session will travel to Spain today for the club’s winter training camp. The senior team will be accompanied by FSV’s under-19 captain Daniel Glieber, as well as Marcus Müller, Tim Müller and Lasse Wilhelm from the U23 side.

Jae-sung Lee will not travel with the squad to Andalusia, as he is in South Korea’s squad for the Asian Cup. Nelson Weiper suffered a small setback to his recovery from a knee injury in an individual training session and will not be on the plane to Spain either. He will be assessed over the course of the week. Stefan Bell is another Zerofiver who won’t take part in the club’s winter training camp, as he is struggling with a bacterial infection after being ill.

Mainz will play a friendly match during their training camp. On Saturday, 6th January (12:30 CET), the Zerofivers will take on Dutch side Feyenoord at the Marbella Football Center.
